About us
Our dogs include; one labrador (a neutered male) and 3 Australian Labradoodles ( all female). I have several other Australian Labradoodles as well (breeding boys and girls), but they all live with host families. I see them very often; and they visit our farm on a regular basis, for walks with the other dogs on a nearby moor.
I have chosen for hosting some of my dogs with other families, because I want them to grow up in normal family life instead of raising and keeping them in kennels outside.
New litters, including those of the dogs living in host families, are born however in our house. The newborn puppies stay with us in our home until they are ready to move to their new owners.
The reason I breed Australian Labradoodles is that allergies occur in my family. My sister and her daughter, for example, suffer from astma and are allergic to dogs. They have had to get rid of a dog in the past because of this. Consequently they were eager to find a breed that would not aggravate their allergies. So, one day, my sister told me about the Australian Labradoodle and it's allergy friendly properties. Together we visited Peter and Harja Schrijver, who had just had a new litter born to one of their Labradoodle girls. It was love at the first sight!!
In the summer of 2004 Utah, my first breeding girl came to live with us. Juno (another girl) joined us in March of 2005.
Without a male dog however, I couldn't start a breeding programme, so I had to import "new blood" from the original breeder, Rutland Manor in Australia. Together with Peter and Harja Schrijver I acquired Pivo, a black male, who now lives with my sister. Unfortunaly Pivo proved not to be suitable for breeding purposes and so we had to import another male (Rutlands Barrie), lateron followed by Rutlands Stitch in Time ( Diesel). They too live with host families.
In March 2008 another baby-sire came to join us; Dogs Paradise Kenji. He will be (in future) the daddy of our miniature puppies.
All our dogs have fleece coats.
